Goodreads Choice Awards 2023: the winners are here!

Over 5.8 million votes were cast. Most users were voting for books by Rebecca Yarros, R.F. Kuang, and Emily Henry.

The Goodreads Choice Awards are an annual celebration of the best books of the year, as voted on by the passionate community of the Goodreads users.

After receiving over 5.8 million votes, the 15th Annual Goodreads Choice Awards are now finalized

This year’s GCA competition features 15 categories and includes 300 nominated books.

Among the winners there are several returning authors, including Emily Henry, who secured her third consecutive Best Romance win with Happy Place (157,687 votes). 

R.F. Kuang, who has been a multiple-time Fantasy nominee for her Poppy War, took home the Best Fiction prize with Yellowface, her sharp and insightful satire of the publishing industry. The book collected 200,722 votes.

Other books that won big were Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, a fantasy romance that everyone loved, Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross, and Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me.

The book most Goodreads were voting for is Rebecca Yarros’ Fourth Wing, the winner of the Best Romantasy category, with 397,565 votes cast.
