
The New York Public Library has announced a list of top books checked out in 2022 from the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island branches.
The No. 1 most-borrowed books in 2022 is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig, a beautiful fantasy novel about a library that exists between life and death.
Another book about books is Book Lovers by Emily Henry (No. 8). It follows the story of two librarians, Ava and Jasper, who find themselves in a battle of wits and wills as they try to outdo each other in a series of book-related challenges.
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus is the second most checked out book this year. The novel follows a chemist in the early 1960s who, against all odds, finds herself the star of a popular cooking show.
The NYPL books are available in print, ebook, and audiobook format. There are also many books in accessible formats, including talking books (DB), braille (BR), large print (LGPT), and through Bookshare (BK).
